1979 Pinto, a piece of American Automotive History!
Second owner of 1979 Ford Pinto seeks third owner.
Has the factory installed sound system (AM radio, works)
Original owner had it painted at some point
Has flat lobe on cam
Needs some TLC (it's a 35 year old, $800 car!) Headliner sagging (it's the old stitched style, might be able to re-stitch) Door hinge bushings worn, carpets & seatcovers need replaced. Brake pedal pulses, something is warped, didn't bother me enough to worry about.
This thing starts & drives amazingly well for it's age and having a flat cam lobe. I put a Frantz bypass oil filter on it a while ago, so it's almost like you're getting the car for $400.
I'm not going to claim this was Ford's finest hour, but it's really not as bad a little car as I expected it to be when I bought it. Could either be a restoration project or a cheap DD. I bought it after I had knee surgery & needed something with an automatic. It's served it's purpose for me, time for a new home.
'88, 3" BDS lift, 31" DuraTracs, homebrew front bumper, roof rack, some other stuff...
