Hello all. I'm posting this for a family member, but I have personally gone over and driven this Jeep, and should be as able as anybody to answer any questions. Please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be as honest as possible. If there's something wrong with it that I don't list below, I don't know about it.
'96 4 Door XJ Cherokee
4.0L, AW4 auto
Asking $3,000 OBO. Make an offer, the worst I can do is say no.
Located in Northern KY. About an 1.25 hours north of Lexington, and maybe 1 hour south of Cincinnati.
If you're looking at classifieds on Jeepforum, I don't need to explain the merits of the XJ. This one runs great, pulls well, shifts, and does everything as it should. 4wd works, heat works, AC works, radio works (didn't test the CD players specifically). Crank windows, so you never have to replace those pain in the butt regulators. It's a 96 so it's running an 8.25" rear (spline count unknown). Has a hitch and wiring. Has 2" shackles in the back. It had some rocker dents and rust so I installed the Warrior Products diamond plate rocker/door armor, and it looks pretty good in person. Fog lights work. Has previously had a CB in it, and the wires are still ran to where the antenna used to be.
The body is not perfect. It shows signs of having been wrecked on a front corner, and one fender is just a shade off. The fiber glass header panel above the headlights has a crack in it. It could easily be covered by a bug guard. It's got a few scratches and dents. It gives it character. The headliner inside has a tear in it, and the blower motor only works on high and low. Someone bypassed it with a rocker switch, but it works.
It's got new wheels/centers/ lug nuts. Front tires are 98% tread 235/75/15 Mud Kings, and the back are brand new 29x10.50 TSL's. They're different widths but work out to be the same height. Muffler is a Dynomax super turbo. It gives the 4.0 some rumble without being obnoxiously loud. Tires are louder than the muffler.
It would make a decent daily driver, a good intro Jeep for a teenager, or a just a farm Jeep. It's never been lifted (until I added the shackles to make sure the back tires didn't rub).
Hit me up with any questions. I'll answer if I can.
