*SOLD* 2005 LJ Rubicon
$14,500.00
I guess I'm committing now. I've been thinking about selling my 2005 LJ Rubicon for about 5 months, and now here we are. It's been awesome, but it is time to part ways.

It is more stock than not, with the exceptions and mods listed below. It has gone offroad, but has not been abused. No oil leaks, no roof leaks, AC is COLD, engine and trans are in great shape.

Features!
  • 6-speed manual transmission (if you're local and need it, I'll teach you)
  • Full and half doors
  • Low miles - just over 71000 right now
  • Newish Bestop NX frameless soft top with Sunrider flip-back roof panel
  • Kargo Master Congo Cage rack - 500 pound capacity
  • High Rock rear bumper with 3000 lb tow hitch
  • Custom Bartact seat covers in grey and khaki to match the interior
  • Borla stainless steel cat-back exhaust (new) plus new O2 sensors
  • Upgraded subwoofer (in console) with amplifier (hidden) and all new speakers
  • Wrangler Duratrac tires have about 25000 miles
  • Rugged Ridge overhead storage thingy
  • Random grab handles
  • RedRock side steps - not installed
  • Other small stuff I've forgotten

On the bad side...
  • The paint has a few marks and scratches. It is thin, soft (original) paint.
  • I had plasti-dipped the top of the hood, and it's time to redo it.
  • Rear seat was replaced with a Bestop unit, so it's not stock. It lived most of its life in my shed and has some stains on the back.
  • Fuel filler likes to overflow - a common problem. I have a replacement fuel filler neck, but have not installed it.
  • Along those lines, I also have a new OPDA, just in case. No sign of trouble, though.
  • Uh, that's really all I can think of. It's really been a great Jeep.

I'm asking $14,500 obo. As an idea of 'best offer', I have a dealer offer for $12,500, so I'm not looking for lower than what the dealer is willing to pay.

I do not. I bought it with a hard top and the previous frameless soft top, but had nowhere to store the hard top so it had to go.

Undercarriage, etc! It was raining, so they aren't the best possible.

Most of what you see is dirt. Two middle pics show areas where I cleaned off some dirt with rain water. Last pic is a closeup of the rear bumper at the frame. This is the most noticeable of the rust, but it's really still just light surface frame rust. You'll also notice some rust on some suspension bolts.

Jeep looks good, and there doesn't look to be much of any rust on the frame. I would suggest hitting it with a degreaser and pressure washer to clean it up. It would be a good selling point for anyone near the rust belt. If I wasn't already neck deep in investing in my jeep I'd be all over it. Good luck with the sale.

Looks like a good vehicle and should be worth more than you're asking for it. Dealers always lowball you.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. As it turns out, I already have a full-price offer and am waiting on the first person to respond to look at it this Friday. I probably could have asked for more, but I'll be content getting my asking price and selling to someone who will appreciate it.

(I say that now, but we both know I'll regret the sale for years no matter how much I get)
