Find a better dealer even if you have to drive a considerable distance. Remember.. the difference in trade will save you in sales tax which on say 15K or so (probably high on a 00 TJ trade in) would equate to about $1200 in CA. Start pulling parts and sell to make up some of the difference. Means you would need to find a way to pull about $4800 in parts to make up the difference. Work a good deal with a different dealer and if the dealer really wants the business they will find a way to mark up your rig (in trade value not their final sale price on the rig) to pull some more out of the taxes. Best of luck, but think.. and you can work this to a solid $21K (total including pick-n-pull, not trade in value) on your rig with a dealer (given you can find a way to rob $3-4K in parts off your TJ).

*edit

Best bet is to really search and find a Rubicon with under 10K on it and save yourself $5K or so, that would be your best compromise to really work the difference out of a dealer.

This is a great Idea, If it does not sell by mid June, I may look into this Idea.
