Width of rim question,,,,and **** Cepek rim question.

I know I have read that I should go with an eight inch rim. Does this apply to 35"s also?

I like the looks of the 10" though, so this one is a tough decision to decide.

Also how are the **** Cepek DC-1 rims that are black? Good, Bad, Ugly?

TIA

For a street Jeep, you can go with a 10" wheel as it won't make much difference. But if you offroad and air down, you'll be much better off with 15x8 wheels since it takes less air pressure to keep the tires seated against wheel beads that are 8" apart than if they are 10" apart. In other words, you'll be less likely to lose a bead with 15x8 wheels than you would with 15x10 wheels. 15x8 is the most common size wheel used by offroaders for 33x12.50 and 35x12.50 tires, which is what I'm using with my 35x12.50 MT/Rs.

I can be a little more specific now. I am going to be running 35x13.50 Toyo's. So I am guessing that an 8 inch rim is too small for that wide of a tire then?

Is this too wide of a tire for wheelin'? I read the specs for these tires and they say not to use anything below an 8.5" rim.

I appreciate the reply already Jerry.

Wow that's a WIDE tire. If you really want that wide of a tire than yeah I'd probably go with a 15x10 wheel. Just realize that really wide tires cause hydroplaning and if you drive on icy/snow-covered roads that wide tires are pretty awful so far as their traction goes. Personally, I like nothing bigger than 35x12.50.
