Welcome to JF, what is it you would like to upgrade? The tires? If so, the Goodyear kevlar reinforced MT/R is, by far, one of the best offroad tires available right now. It is nearly bulletproof with the kevlar reinforcement on the sidewalls. If you don't do trails that are known to puncture sidewalls, the BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM2 is a good choice.

Is your JK a Rubicon? If not, its front axle is a Dana 30.

Front axle is a 44. How do you feel about ProComp mud terrain, and what size tire do you think would best fit the Jeep cause there is 35s on it now.

I guess I have no one I know has every been happy they put pro comp mud terrains on. My suggestion is with those above either GY MTRs or BFG KM2s, Firestone MT, and cooper SSTs, Mikey Thompson MTZ, would all be on my short list, skip the pro comps. I would stick with 35s anything bigger is going to require more upgrades. Do you have a Rubicon I don't see any stickers on it? Only the Rubicons came with D44s upfront the rest have D30s, or well actually hybrid D30, stronger than a TJ D30.

I second that I have never heard of anyone overly happy with the procomps. I would stick with 35's and go with KM2's!

I have ProComps 35" tires on my Jeep and they ride like crap. They do, however, run well with minimal road noise on the highway. Expect to get around 60,000 miles on them. Fyi

60,000 miles on any ProComp tire would be a miracle. I used to specify ProComp tires for custom lifted vehicle builds for new car/truck/Jeep dealerships when I worked for ProComp's parent company and I soon grew to learn just what a fast wearing tire they are in my personal opinion. If there was one primary complaint I heard about all the ProCOmp tires I was forced to use except when they were out of stock was that they wore out too fast.

Made by Cooper, I wouldn't run a ProComp tire if a set was offered to me free. Oh wait, they DID offer me a set set of ProComp tires for free to run on my Jeep and I turned them down to keep driving on my MT/Rs. My manager was really (!) pissed. In hind-sight, I should have installed them to reduce the wear on my preferred MT/R tires but I didn't even want them on my Jeep... they would have been too embarrassing to be seen running them by anyone who knew better than to run a ProComp tire on a serious trail rig.

I recently got the Cooper STT and I am very happy with them. They don't have the Kevlar that Jerry is referring to but do have some sort of sidewall material impervious to punctures. They are quieter than i expected from a MT. The only draw back that i have noticed is that they run small.

Trust me, no ProComp tire's sidewall is impervious to punctures. Not even the MT/R with its significantly more puncture resistant kevlar-reinforced sidewall is impervious.

I would like to say, that I have had no problems with my set of Procomps except, they have always had a bounce in them when your running down the highway. Cannot be fixed by balancing. It is a defect in the tire. They DO NOT wear out fast and wear very well. Although I will not purchase another set. I drive my rig 75 miles per day an I can tell you that they wear better than any M/T or A/T I have ever owned. Still outta round though!!

Well, not yet. I've put 15000 on them and tread depth has wore 1/8 inch. They are 5/8" new, which means I've got 4/8" tread depth left. 1/8" @ 15000 miles X 5/8" = 75000 miles untill they are bald. So I'll give them around 50 - 60000 miles life expectency : )
