Trying to make tire choice

So i really like the yokohama geolander mts but i dont know if they have the size for my stock rim. I really like the stock rims. The tires on it now are 225/70/r16 and my jeep has 2in coil spacers i think the biggest i can fit are 31s? I dont know if yokohama geolander mt makes a 31 that will fit my stock rim?

If anyone knows or can help that would be great.
I have done some research but couldt find the answers to my questions.

I like the look of directional tread....that's a nice looking tire. This is all I can get. The 265 75 16 (I know this translates to 10.5x 31.75x 16, but often times, the physical tire is a smaller size.)

The 235 85 16 looks to be the same height, but (9.25?) wide. Dunno if that helps. Your rims will be 16 (diameter) x something wide.

265 (millimeters) means it's approx 10.5" wide from sidewall bulge to sidewall bulge. i.e. - it's a 10.5" wide tire. Approximately.

Not sure how tall a 265/70/R16 is, but I'd guess it's about 31" tall. Why would you get that tire?

Get a 265/75R16 because that's a 32 X 10.5 R16 and it fits stock TJ and LJ with stock Rubicon Moab rims, and will probably fit your WJ too.

However, I'm not an expert on WJ tire fit. So someone else will have to help you with that, but I'd suggest you consider 265/75R16 tires because that's a great size, and a few brands of that are available in load C (my preference), and many brands in load D.

I'd suggest you get load C for best ride quality (durable enough for me). If you want a more durable tire, get a load D (but it will ride rougher). Avoid load E because they ride so rough you'd regret it.

Does that tire design require having 2 spares, one for left side of vehicle, and one for the right?

I've read that putting directional treads on backwards is about as dangerous as removing the "DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAG" tag from your mattress. I also read some wheelers will run the fronts in reverse purposely in case they need the extra benefit to back out of a situation.
The tire design is basically a farm tractor tire with more technology, made to churn soil from under it to get down to more solid ground below.
From a physical perspective, the idea of a donut shape displacing dirt remains the same in both instances, running it one direction has a little more advantage.

Take 265. (this is millimeters)
divide that by 25.4 (that's how many millimeters are in an inch)
that equals 10.43 inches (round that up to 10.5)
....That tire is 10.5' wide at it's widest point.

take 70 (that is the percentage of tire width to height ratio.
so.. 10.5(width) and multiply by 0.70(percentage value)
that equals 7.35 inches (we're not done yet)
that means the fatness is 10.5 and the height is 7.35, but that's only half the tire (a section- like you cut the tire from the hole to the outside)
so that would be 7.35 on the top and 7.35 on the bottom.
that's 14.7"

All you need to do is add the wheel (rim) diameter and VOILA! Overall tire height.

I can't help you with your stock wheels, but alot of people put 10.5" wide tires on a 7" wheel.

Just remember, not all tires are really true to their advertised measurements. Most times they are a little smaller, but (not that I've seen this) some are bigger and this may be true of the SIMEX off-road tires.
I've read a thread here that those tires run 1" taller than the advertised measurement, but have not confirmed it personally.
Pricing puts those out of my practical interest.
Good luck.

I just put 265/75R16 Nitto Terra grapplers on my WJ with only a 2"BB, new shocks will go on in about 2 weeks when I get time. I did have to trim, due to rubbing when the wheels were turned in reverse, but it was a 1 hour job, unnoticeable unless you look for it and works like a charm.

This was taken before I trimmed

Thats good to know. but what all did you have to trim? and about how much? any more pics of wjs with 265-75-16s would be awesome or tires close to that size.
