True 31's?

I am looking at tires as I plan for when I find a good XJ and I have noticed that most of the tires that say they are 31 inches tall actually measure up around 30.5 inches tall.

This is according to the information on sites like tirerack and discount tire as well as the books at my friend's father's shop. Can someone point me towards some true 31 inch tall tires? Or is 30.5 as good as it gets?

Thanks
Tim

true 31's?

I had my LJ with 31x10.50 BFG A/T's parked next to a TJ with the same sized Open Countrys and his tires looked markedly bigger than mine!

If you check out the Interco site almost all their tires are bigger than advertised, and bigger than most others.

I had a set of TSL Super Swamper SSR radials in 31" they list at 31.5. The BFG 32" MT is 31.5 so the SS 31 and the BFG are the same true life size but different numbers on the sidewall.

The tire thats the absolute worst at true to size measurements is the maxxis buckshot mudder. I bought a set of 33x12.5-15 buckshots and 4wheelparts said they measure 32.1. Well after I put them on my bronco, they measure 31".
