I think I saw someone say they wore out a little quicker. I would like to hear verification of that though....

Update on mine: 31x10.50r15 mud dogs.

Went on a camping/wheeling trip this weekend. There was lot of mud due to some severe weather we had locally. So I spent most of the weekend the mud. They cleaned out with a little bit of throttle and really bit well on wet rocks and sandstone. I pretty much had a point and go kinda weekend. My buddy who runs 32" mud claw (or something like that) had troubles keeping up with out liberal amounts of skinny pedal. On a 1-10 scale I give em a 8-9 great rating.

A picture of what I was in:

I'm looking at getting a set of these, including spare.

265-70R17-HOWLER-M-T-(E) - Retread Tires from TreadWright, Inc.

and at 80PSI, it's going to be a loud rough ride Might be able to get some gas mileage out of it though. It's still just too expensive though!!!

do NOT run those at 80 PSI, youll get horrible wear and tear on your center tread. My max is 50 on the gaurd dog's and I run 30-35.

That's very useful info, thank you... Why the hell do they say 80 PSI then when it's better to run them at 50?

Max psi is what you would want to run if you were at full tow load. I imagine those tires are aimed at trucks with a high tow load, thus needing the 80 PSI, but for a Jeep, even 50 may be too much... Do the chalk test once you mount them to determine the best PSI.

I got the 32's in 16" flavor:

Best damn radial mud tire i've owned and I've used all the big brands before. It's nice to have a C-load rating on a 16" tire for once.

I also got a t-shirt, cup, and bunch of stickers in a package that came a week later. Neat!

You'll NEVER need 80 psi in a Jeep. I personally think in a 30/31 size, you'd like 30 psi or so just fine.

That's about what I run in my 32's (C) too. I up it to 28-30 when I do long trips on the freeway to get a little more mileage. 27 seems to be the magic number for most of my 31"+ tires i've run to date, except for swampers which liked 22 psi.

Someone boot me if I'm not supposed to ask questions, and no hard feelings. My ZJ is my dd and I drive ~30 miles to work one way, everyday. From there I leave to school which is about an hour highway drive from my work, and then a ~35 mile drive from school to home. In short, I drive a LOT on the highway. I bought those 55 dollar special goodyear wrangler tires from walmart and got my moneys worth, but the treadwear was awful (again, fair though for the price). Those are 235/75-15s. When i bought the ZJ it had a bb and 31s on it. I want bigger tires and really want the gurad dog mts but wish they came in 30x10.5-15s... BUT, if I did get the 31s, anyone be able to tell me if thats a stupid idea with how often I'm on the highway? Would it absolutely kill my mileage (I get about 22 highway at 78mph)? Sorry for newbish question, I just don't want to buy bargain tires if I'm going to be replacing them year after next. If it's going to be like that, I would rather get firestone destination ats that i know I can get around 4 years out of. I appreciate the advice if any is given, but MAN, these guard dogs are sweet looking, and great reviews.
