So far so good for my mt/r's

Bludnguts 07-31-2010 07:26 PM

hows the width on the mt/r's ?? are they true 12.50's ? ?

jeepy01 07-31-2010 08:55 PM

mine where a little wider than that

I love my toyo MT's..... Yes they are "slim" by everyones standards at 33x10.5x15 but for my daily driver they handle great on the road. I went with steelies for price. Each tire/wheel weigh 90#s, and just barely fit on stock tailgate. Tailgate holding up great with 12k miles and tread wear is looking great(I rotate every 3k with a 5 tire rotation). Oh and did I mention they tear the mud up!!!!!! My girl gets angry cause I think I'm a submarine captain and can conquer any mud hole!!!!!

ok 03 TJ and 06TJ why do you suggest the good year ? ? whats your reasoning ? ?

TheBoogieman 08-01-2010 09:58 AM

You better make sure you have 3.73 gears and not 3.07's before buying either.Get a BL and MML too with 33's.

Honestly, I have no real experience with toyo, but my mt/r's have yet to fail me on the street or trail.

I personally ran the 33x13.50x15 Toyo MT's for a long while there.. i liked the looks of them.. but those tires are just to damn heavy. I traded them in to Les Schwab for my current KM2's. Went from the 33x13.50x15 to the current 35x12.50x15 KM2's and didn't really feel much of a power loss because the 35" KM2's actually weigh less then the 33" toyos. That and being 1" narrower probably helped a litte

oh wow ... i am really liking what im hearing about the mt/r .. do they have that wide look to them when they are on the jeep ? ? ive seen a couple of pics that say they are 12.50 but they resemble the width of a 10.50 ... thank you everyone this is very helpful in my decision

Any updates???

Do the toyo's hook up better offroad?

castorriver 07-05-2012 01:15 PM

I really like my MT/R's but I'm running the 31's. Mine really are 10.5 wide and I eyeballed another jeep with 33's and they look a lot wider.
