tires with out lift kit

I have a 1999 wrangler SE, can I put 33x12.50s on my stock TJ with out putting a lift on it and also it is a 4 cyl. will this be to big of a tire for 4 cyl. Thank you so much

Not a good idea. Largest tire that "fits" a TJ OEM is 31x10.5 and even those can rub a bit in extreme situations. And you'd have significant power loss with those tires and a 4 cylinder unless you are prepared to regear your axles, which seems unlikely if you aren't even prepared to put on a small lift.

I use to have a 98 tj with 31's with a 4 cyl manual. It sucked! going up any hill I would slow down even though I would downshift and floor it. No matter what I did acceleration was terrible.
