Which Tires to Buy?

I'm sure that this has been asked and answered a million times. I've been trying to research it, but there are so many opinions.

My tires are almost worn out. I need to get new ones.

I have a 98 TJ stock everthing D35 rear axle D30 front.
I was thinking of getting 31x10.5. I am considering getting a 2" lift in the near future, but haven't done it yet. I could also probably get the lift and 32s if that would be a good idea.
This is my daily driver and I primarily want tires that handle well on road in very well in snow (I'm in Wisconsin). But, I also want tires that are good offroad, as I hope to get into offroading more in the future.

So, what would people recommend?

I'm into hearing about this too. So far I like the BFG KM2s or Cooper STTs. Thoughts on 31x10.5r15 or 32x11.5r15s?

I've got a similar question. I have 33x12.5" ProComp Xterrains on my 2.5l 97 TJ. Drivetrain is stock. This is a daily driver and the majority of my driving is on pavement. I am thinking about going to a smaller tire for this type of driving and keeping the larger tires for when I get the chance to go offroad. The Jeep is weak in top gear with the current tires anyway. I am wondering how large of a tire I can put on this vehicle and not compromise top gear power and torque. I do want to stay with some type of M/T tire or agressive A/T tire as I do travel dirt roads that are sometimes muddy. I have a sheet with factory specs for the Jeep that states it originally came with 225/75s on it. Any thoughts?

I've enjoyed BFG All Terrains. They are quiet on the street, last at least 40k miles, and are good in the snow.

If you want 32s then wait for the lift, it will look sweet. But if not 31s can hold their own perfectly fine, I mean in reality the size difference is minimal.

Big tires definitely put a hurting on the 4 cylinders. You engine won't exactly be a powerhouse, even with 30" road tires but it will be better the small you go. And I wouldn't go anything over a 33 on it for daily driving, if it was mostly for off road use you could go as big as you want and just gear down for it. To help a little bit just go with a more narrow tire, like a 33x10.50. It will cut down on weight a lot.
