Tire opinions please
Tire size will be 33x12.5x15. Mostly for the road, but occasional mud/rock crawling. I have a few choices, but the deciding factor is I want one that will last a long time. These tires are in order of preference.
1. Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 2. BFG MT KM1 3. BFG MT KM2 4. Procomp X-Terrain 5. Mickey Thompson Baja Claw I want the Wrangler MTR's the most but have heard mixed reviews. Some people say they dont last 20,000 miles while some say they last 60,000. Also, I am in Alabama so ice/snow perofrmance is not important. Please help me... Thanks, Rush

#2 is my preference. seeing how you said mostly on-road, #3 might be better for you. i'd scratch #4 off the list.

Go STEELERS!!!!

For your area prob #2 if you can get them. Then #3. MT/Rs are great for rocks but not so great for mud. You will probably see more mud time than rick time in your area so the MTs would edge out the MT/Rs in my opinion.
I agree; scratch #4. I don't like any Pro-Comp tires. |

#4 at first work great on rocks and as a dd. After ~38k miles, they still work great on the rocks but on the road they're terrible, super loud, and under 20 mph it feels like I'm on a gravel road and my kidnies are well shaken. They wear funky since its a directional tire and you can't properly rotate them. I'm looking at the BFG MT KM2 and will probably get those.

when i was running #4's before i got my bfg's i said screw the directional thing and did full rotation anyway with no adverse affects. at times i had fronts going one way and rears the other. they did surprisingly well that way offroad and in mud and few people even noticed. after all, when you get in too deep and are trying to backup and get out, they're going the wrong way when you need them most. it really helped with evening up the wear and might be worth a try. to me it seems like the two-ply sidewalls are the archilles heel of that tire.

for me number 2 then 3, 1,5,4. I think number 2 tops them all since they are much cheaper I think and you said its for the road.
