The tread was modified for better traction I assume... you could so the same thing if you wanted. My point was the rest of the tire design including the sidewalls and belt held up and performed similar to if not better than race spec tires. Grooving doesnt change the tire as a whole.

Maintain, wheel, upgrade, repeat.

Oh? So buying a ungrooved krawler and then making a tread pattern dosent change the performance or the tire in whole?

No, because the tread is only one component of a tire's design.

Right, but when you start taking large parts of rubber out you start to affect the tire in whole

The way the Savvy/Currie team did it, only the tread was affected.

So what are you trying to get at? Grooving the tire only affected tread. The rest of it was left untouched. You said the entire tire was changed from grooving.

Ok.. that is besides the point of this thread.. please.. So my TreadWrights just came today, did not get to install them yet.. Shipping was fast, only complaint is that I had mentioned that I was not to be charged until the following Monday (10/29).. Well they tried to charge me that Wednesday (10/24).. Well the money wasn't there.. So they called me saying there was a problem.. Well of course there was, IT WASN'T MONDAY!!! So I said to charge me on Friday (10/26) because that's when I get paid.. I even had the woman repeat back my request, which she did flawlessly.. Guess what.. They charged me Thursday, which just so happened to be when I moved money into that account for bills.. AWESOME!!!! Thankfully, I was able to call and postpone my bills until Monday, but I shouldn't have been put into that position..

So all in all, their customer service or whatever you want to call it gets a C, they do not get an F only because they made sure everything else was right (BF Goodrich, matching set, proper size, correct address, etc.) but not an A due to fact that I may as well been talking to a wall and wasting my cell minutes.. Shipping gets an A+.. Price gets an A (wish shipping cost was less, like maybe free shipping if you buy a set of 4 or something).. Next, to test the overall quality of their product.. They look good, nothing raises any concern.. Will post pics and comments after I get em on my rig..

Please keep irrelevant arguments out of this thread.. It doesn't help anyone.. this thread is about what kind of tire to get, not modifications of, the effects of modification or anything besides what tire you can get for a decent price that isn't a POS.. I would appreciate it..

yeh I'm curious for a long term update as well, I am understanding that re-treads aren't as notorious as they once were.
