Tire Choice, LTB vs. TSL
I'm stuck between bias or radial. I know bias is going to be not so good for on road, but does that also mean they wear faster. I love everything about the LTB execpt that they are bias. I have 2 used TSL radials right now that a friend gave me, so thats another factor for me to get the TSLs.
I really like the LTB though because they have a 33X13.50 actuall 32.8 X 11.3 were as the TSLs are only 32.7 X 9.4 plus the TSL cost more. (widths are tread width) BTW TBLs are 1/32 deeper if that counts for anything. DO you guys think I should sacrifice some road drving for the LTBs or bit the bullet and spend on the TSL. Since I have 2 worn TSLs now, they can make for great spares instead. little help, make me feel good about one or the other ![]() EDIT: just a few prices I've come buy 4wheelparts: LTB = 123.99 + shipping TSL - 139.99 + shipping

I'd go for the Radials.

Just bought a set of TSL Radials for the 3B- they come tomorrow. My buddy has bias TSLs on his CJ-8 and it definitely wallows down the road, not to mention the flat spots when cold. Go for the radials.

Sorry, dumb question coming--- What makes the two different? I know that the radials are better on road but why?

well i had some 35" swampers on my 79 GMC Sierra and they werent bad at all after they warmed up, but every night after work when i would leave, they would shake me to death. im talking you couldnt look out the mirrors. it got old fast. now they were loud as heck too but it was kinda a good loud, not a high pitch wine, but a airplane drone type of loud. if you want more highway life get the radials, although i hear they are loud as heck too. but the LTB;s are so cheap to replace it makes them tempting. ive heard some good stories on LTB longevity as well.
tough choice. id go radial though, im planning on TRXUS when i get the cash.

LTB's can't be beat offroad. period.
I had my ltb's for 12k miles, and they were about half worn. Other than flat spotting after sitting for a couple days (never just overnight for me) was normal. Make sure you get them balanced at a tire shop that sells Swampers. I never had any shakes/vibes, or anything. A little bit more stiff than the 33x12.50 tsl radials I had before, but not much. (I personally wouldn't own another set of radial swampers) I do however enjoy my new tires, 35x12.50 mtr's. If swamper made the ltb in a 35x13.50, I'd own a set. ![]()

Hey Toney, have you had any problems with them popping beads. From what I've heard from other boards, people were saying that they pop off the rims easily, wear fast, and drive like crap on road. I have 15X10 rims, so that is one of the main reasons I want the LTB, since they are 13.50" wide that should go good with those rims. I'm not worried about on road handling, sorta concerned about tread wear though.
Thanks for all the opinions guys.

i've got a set of 36' tsl radials and I love these tires. I they ride great without a single weight on them. They are loud though, but, I wouldn't have it any other way.
