OK, i heard that if you put suspension spacers and new shackles on you jeep just to lift it up 2 or 3 inches that it can mess up some stuff...is this true? and if so then wha will it mess up and how do you fix it?
What kind of Jeep are you planning on raising? Spacers are used on coil sprung Jeeps ('97 and newer) and longer shackles are used on leaf sprung Jeeps ('95 and older). In general spacers can mess up your driveline angle and alignment. Longer shackles do about the same thing in addition to screwing up the handling and looking ugly.
its a 94 so im guessing i should forget the spacers....i was planning on getting a full 4.5 lift from rubicon express but i was jst gonna put spacers on so i can use 31" tires with out smashing my fenders until i get the lift but i guess the tires can wait a while for the lift..by the way thanx for the help
Actually, I believe that I mislead you. I was thinking of Wranglers not Cherokees. Your '94 Cherokee uses coil springs, right? You could use spacers to get an inch or two of lift without much problem. I don't know if that will be enough to clear 31's or not. Anyway, sorry for the misinformation.
