Spraypaint wheels XJ

Looking into spray painting my rims black. How would I go about doing this, should I take off every tire so I won't get the rotors or brakes

In something like this prep is key. Make sure te rims are clean enough to eat off of. After that you are going to want to sand it down so that the paint will have something to cling on to. After I sanded mine down I cleaned it again just to be safe. You could take the rims off of the car but if I wanted to go through all that trouble I would have powder coated it. To make sure I don't ruin my jeeps paint I masked off the tire and the fender areas just to be safe. As for paint I used one coat of primer and 4 coats of automotive spray paint in a satin black color.
