Spacers?

I have a '08 Sahara.
It currently has the factory wheels.
I can't really afford to spend $1,200 or more on new wheels and tires. I was thinking about adding spacers to make my current wheels look a little more aggressive.

Is this a bad idea?

theres nothing wrong with wheel spacers as long as you buy a quality brand (like Spidertrax), and understand what they are & how to maintain them. you'll need to check the torque periodically, and check for any cracks in the spacers. spacers do add another layer of complexity to maintenance, like brakes for example.

They're another thing that can fail, and as such, many wheel/tire shops will not touch a vehicle with wheel spacers...so keep that in mind. I used to run Spidertrax wheel spacers, but got tired of taking the wheels off, installing a spare set, then hauling 5 wheels to Discount every time I wanted to get em balanced, then driving home and swap tires again. Complete waste of time, so ended up gotting wheels of the proper backspacing and sold the spacers.
