Face

Most people are going to want to kick me in the face for this.

But I highly recommend the TSL Radials made by Interco.

I run 33's on my Jeep and love them. If you are worried about road noise, you are driving the wrong vehicle IMHO.

I just hate when people complain about noise road on a Jeep. THEN WHY DID YOU BUY BIGGER TIRES MADE FOR OFFROAD USE?

Ya know?

Go with the TSL Radials, they perform excellent in mud and for rockin.

They also look way more aggressive than any other tire!

X2 for the TSL's. Or the LTB swampers, They are a great tire as well, And a good price. But i hear ya about the BFG a/t's, Worthless tires for anything but the road. Theres alot of tires out there that will suit you better. As for road noise, Get a better sound system or ear plugs, If you want maximum traction off-road, You will have to deal with on-road noise and whatever else comes with it. Good luck

Have you thought about Toyo Open Country M/T's or A/T's. I have the A/T's on my daily driver and I put the M/T's on my weekend driver. I love these tires!!! The one down fall was that I had to search a little for them. Come to find out tirerack doesnt sell Toyo. I ended up finding them at www.treadepot.com.

BFG KM2's ... deep lugs and all terrain level road noise.

My second choice would be Cooper STT's.

I don't have first hand experience, but have heard that the Truxus MT has a compound that doesn't last very long on the road? Also heard they are sometimes hard to balance? Just what I heard, so it could be false?

General Tire Grabber AT2. I have 32's that have about 90% tread left from maybe 6 or 7 months. I now run a different 35. They had great traction on the road and in snow, ice, dirt and mud. They weren't loud on the freeway either

I work at a tire shop, and we sell these tires fairly often. They do wear out faster than some other similar tires, such as the BFG MT's or the Coopers. The durometer rating on the Trxus' is lower, which means that they are softer and stickier. This isn't to say that they'll wear out in 6 months, but they might last 5-10,000 miles less than a BFG MT, for example. The upside to this is that they'll stick like glue to rocks, and will be slightly better if you ever drive on snow or ice.
As far as balancing is concerned, I've balanced about a dozen of these, and only had one that needed more weight than average. The odds of getting a Mud Tire that is way out of round is, in my experience, no higher than any other specialty mud tire.
Just my .02
Mike

I get durometer playing a role on a tires flex and 'sticky' factor to various terrains ...
But is it also true that different manufacturers use varied CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS for material they are using for a given durometer ... and this results in the variance in mileage as well??

Or do all the companies use one general formula with no advantage to one tires composition over another?

Doesn't anyone run BFGoodrich all terrains anymore?
I have been out of the loop for almost 10 years, I used to run those all the time. For offroad use, I had TSL Swampers that were pretty good.

I love my BFG KM2's. Ran them in deep snow this past weekend and they cleaned out great! Smooth on the road, too.

Yes there are a lot. But this guy wants aggressive tires.

I have the Cooper STTs and they are great for me!
