So many tire opinions
I am going to do a 2 - 2.25" BB, but the only thing really holding me up is what tire to go with. I need something that will wear and drive well, 80% of my driving is highway, and something that will serve me well in the mud - of course you can't forget looks. Listed are the tires that I am looking at:
31x10.5x15 TrXus Mickey Thompson MTZ SSR Series SS Boggers

I voted for the Trxus simply because I have them and love them. I don't have any experience with the others.

I prefer the SSRs, but because of all the highway driving you do, I voted for the TRXus.

Go STEELERS!!!!

80% highway use is a def reason NOT to get Boggers. They wear fast, ride bad, hard to balance and not real good grip on wet roads.
I wouldn't choose any of the tires you listed based on driving style. However of the ones you list, TrXus prob. BFG MTs might be worth looking at. |

I would suggest that you take a look at Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. Right after picking up my '06 Sport, I traded in the stock Goodyears for 30" Revos. It's just a great all around tire. Sure, their not "mud", but dang, they have done very well so far on the trails I have been on. Plus their quiet on the highway and still look really good too.

Thanks everyone for your input and poll results, thus far. I ordered a2" BB today so I will need to make up my mind soon - with the results so far, it looks like the best bet might be the MT.

35-40 thousand miles may be a bit too optomistic. I keep mine rotated and check the pressure and I'm looking to get MAYBE just under 30k. Some guys say they get closer to 20k out of them. I have no experience with BFG MT's but from what I have seen from other people's tires and heard on the boards you can expect to get way more miles out if them then any Interco. It all depends on what you're really looking for out of the tire. Hope this helps

I talked to the guy at Discount Tire about this. He basically said for a vehicle like a Jeep, you should expect to see a more miles out of a set of tires than you would if the same tire was on a full size truck. He also said that he has talked to several people who got almost 40k on their Trxus on full-sized trucks, so I figured 35k was realistic. It probably has a lot to do with where you live and how you drive as well.
