road tires

I had been bouncing around the idea of selling my stock premium tj rims(05).

I had a friend who busted one of his rims on a car and wanted them for 50 bucks each. Infact he grabbed one in the middle of the night to replace his busted one

I am thinking I am better of taking them and putting some nice high mileage good true road tires on there for trips and such. Say should I want to run down to FL for a trip and do not want the MPG, ride, noise, and ride of my mt/rs.

What true road tire would you recommend? Give one cheap and one say a good goodyear tire. No need for offroad, snow and such just a good riding road tire.

Though not wanting say a low profile street rod type tire.

SO help me out, or is switching back and forth for trips and even summer road driving nuts.

I am a fan of the BFG rugged trail.

a buddy has them on his tacoma and gets 70k out of them.

really quiet and smooth.

The BFG ATs are also a good tire you get a lot of mileage out of them. I think the only decent tire Good Year makes not is the Silent Armor, or the GSAs but they look like crap on wrangler there basically a car tire. The BFG rugged trail isn't a bad tire either, my dad has them on his F-150 and they have been good tires, he uses his truck for mostly on road, and driving in the snow.

I just sold my BG Goodrich AT's and put on Bridgestone Revo 2's Man what a difference in the ride. I can not believe it. They are an AT with a slightly aggressive look. Smooth as silk and when I do some wheeling they should do what I need them to in my type of wheelin.
