Reputable Shops - Denver

Hello all,
I started a buddy into wheelin' and he just picked up a 06 Rubi. He is looking to get a lift on it and was looking for a reputable shop in the Denver area to do the work. Anyone have any good experiences or bad ones to share. I wrench on my CJ all the time so it very rarely see's a shop, just some parts do.

Thanks,
Rigor

There's several good places. Astro Automotive is a non 4x4 shop that does great work. I don't know if they would do a lift but worth a shot. They are 4x4 enthusiasts.
Here's a place to look for local vendors and one great site if you are not aware of it. This is where the action is locally:

Thanks Jim,
Looked at the site a bit last night and they had some pretty good information on it. Looks like it turned into a bit of a grip session on specific shops, but still some good info.

Thanks again,
Rick

On that CO site go into the general 4x4 section and post asking who does good lifts.
I still would talk to Astro and also you might want to give these guys a call:

4 Wheel Parts does lifts although they are expensive and they will always try to steer you towards Pro Comp stuff which is their house brand and not really the best.

What kind of lift does your friend have in mind? I'll bet we can steer him towards what works best for what he wants.

I think he is looking at an RE. I tried to talk him into a long arm , but I think he is taking it easy to start with and wanting a short arm ~3.5-4" lift, then upgrade to long arm later. Right now he is running 33's on what looks to be 2" coil spacers? Rides a little low and rubs, but he hasn't got a sway bar disco so he isn't stuffing 'em like he should either. Thats also on his list. It isn't a DD, but I know he wants descent on road manners. I will get him on the right track sooner or later . I told him about crawler tech as well. I also told him he needs to get serious if he wants it done by the time the snow melts! .

The RE 3.5" Superflex kit is a good one. Get some decent shocks and add an adjustable front trackbar and you are good to go.
A lot of people will buy the RE 4.5" Superflex kit and substitute 3.5" springs. The kit costs more but comes with all adjustable control arms etc - a whole lot more.

The good thing is with a Rubi if driveline vibes are a problem he doesn't have to do an SYE He can do a CV driveshaft with the flange. Upper rear adjustablecontrol arms would also be needed. He may want to do this anyway in the future to eliminate the t-case drop.
Note that the 3.5" kit includes JKS Quicker disconnects

We'll see which way he wants to go. Both Kits look pretty decent and if it were me, the idea of the 4.5" with 3.5" springs would leave room for a quick upgrade later. I really appreciate the advice and I am sure it will help.

Just a side note........if you are looking at RE anyways. I did a lot of looking around. Make sure to call different places. I had price quotes varying by like 500 or 600. Call and talk to everyone and don't order until you find a good deal.
