Purchasing 35 or 33 inch tires

Allright so im lifting my jeep, once that is done, i will be needing to purchase some nice new mud tires. I live in Quebec pretty close to the Vermont border. Here locally tires are pretty expensive, upwards of 230$ CAD (215$ USD) for some 33's and closer to 260$ (243.66 USD) for some 35s... for the cheaper ones, the prices vary upwards from 260 to 400$ for anything more extreme like mud boggers O_o

If i made a trip down to Burlington or some place in Vermont and purchased some tires there, would it be cheaper for me? How much do you guys pay for your tires?

I know lots of parts made in the states are alot cheaper, because theres no need for import fees, shipping fees, and because they are made there.

and then my next question, if it would work out to be cheaper, would anyone recommend a particular place to go to?

I would just shop around some more. By the time you factor in the cost to get the tires in VT, it would likely cost more than if bought locally.

I would recommend getting a quote at your local Ford dealer, from my experience they have good pricing, and often will negotiate the price a little.

I don't know about that. I'm in the Yukon, and my 33s will come in around $350 each. Yet talking to my friend, there's a place in Alaska that has a large selection of brand name tires around the $250 mark (my friend was looking at 35s). I don't know the name of it now, but will ask my friend.

Talking to the guys at tiresbyweb.com, they could get me the same tires to the US/Canada boarder for $220 each including shipping. If I lived anywhere near the boarder (3000km is a bit much of a drive just for tires), this is something I'd seriously be looking at - edit... I'd jump all over that in a heart beat!

Just shop around. Being down south you have lots of options (both north and south of the boarder)... take your time, and I'm sure you can find something decent at a reasonable price.

Well that may be true for northern Provinces like the Yukon, in Ontario, and I would suspect in Quebec as well, if you shop around you will find that tire prices aren't significantly higher than that of those in the States.

Have you worked out lift height and gear ratios for tires yet?
