PSA - Sam's / Walmart

Do not order tires from Sam's or Walmart and expect them to mount them. They will only mount stock size tires of similar type.

I ordered 31/10.5/15 Duratracs online, waited for them to get in, took off work to have them mounted and was told that they wouldn't do it.

Manager said I could buy 215/75/15 mounted or take these somewhere else to get them mounted. I told the manager that I usually buy local and I wasn't going to do that to a local shop. If they are going to mount them, they are going to make the money off the tires.

Really, mine does it all the time. Heck they even put them on my bead lock rims and I'm pretty sure that 37" tires weren't stock for my 93 YJ.

Yeah, I had a slightly larger set put on my Grand Cherokee about a year and a half ago. They had them in stock, but they definitely were not factory size. And if you ordered them from them, shouldn't they mount them for you?

Officially, Walmart will only install the size listed on the door jam sticker.

If you take your wheels off in the parking and roll them in, they'll probably mount them.

That said, I didn't know Walmart/Sam's sold tires larger than 31's.

The one near me shows a 275/70/17 BFG Rugged Terrain in stock. Those are 32's.

And they have a 285/70/18 BFG MT. Those are almost 34's.

Heck, they even show a 37x12.50 BFG MT.

Or you could always peel off the sticker in the door jamb.

I got a quote on some 33x12.5x15 duratracs from Sam's yesterday. The guy on the phone didn't mention anything about not being able to mount them- he just asked if i had enough lift. To which I replied: "is a frog's butt water tight"?

True. They told me once that they would not put 235-75-15's on my 05 TJ until I told them that I had only the wheels. Liability issues, that's all.
