my experience with dynabeads

Figured I'd post my experience with dynabeads for others who inquire about them.

I received my new meats, 31x10.5 kumho mt, along with dynabeads to balance them. I had the tires mounted at walmart for $14 (not bad) and installed the beads at my apt. It was fairly simple to do, just remove the valve core and pour the beads in there with the applicator. Since this was my first time working with valve cores, one became a rocket and is probably touching down on the moon right now. I removed it but didn't realize that the pressure would blow it out like it did. The core shot straight up and I have no idea where it went. Luckily I had filtered cores with the kit. I recommend eye protection here

Pouring the beads in is just a matter of tapping and patience. You gotta tap the valve stem to keep them flowing down. Once they were in, I installed the filtered valve core and aired em back up.

First test drive literally amazed me. My previous mt's (futura enforcer mt) always had the tendency to let me know they were there but the kumho's were virtually silent and acted like street tires. Took it up to speeds of 55 and still had no vibes or shakes. This stuff work great! The ability to re-balance your tire everytime you stop is a big plus.

Its been 4 days with the setup and I still can't stop peeking out the window to make sure I have mud tires on.....the tires and beads just amaze me.

I ordered the beads from dynabead's website and it cost around $38, which is a good deal for lifetime balancing. The tires were $430 shipped from summitracing.com.

Wow, first I've seen a writ-up (like yours) I've heard of them.
If one was to use, do you remove the weights that are currently on the wheel or do these just refine that balance??

they can be used for both purposes. i emailed innovative balancing and they were very responsive and helpful. i may try some of the beads along with my current weights as a last resport to balancing my 32" MTR's, otherwise i am selling them off for something a bit more refined (and bigger).

As mentioned, went from 31" MT/R's to 33" Revos. Balanced up with next to no weight and ride like I'm on a cloud. 0 vibes or noise at all speeds.

I was told to remove all weights on the wheels prior to installing the beads. They will still balance with the weights on there but there's no use for having weights if you use dynabeads. They balance constantly throughout the life of the tire.

I'll probably end up giving these a shot. Balancing my wheels has been a task to eliminate vibrations in the steering wheel. I'll get them balanced at another shop then try these.

Did you buy these at a local autozone or off the internet?

Good to hear they worked for you . Now i'm quite sure i will try 'em too . Glad you did'nt get hit by the core . Depending on what i'm doing i usually always wear safety glasses when working on the Jeep . I have too much experience with foreign bodies in my eyes
