Mud Tires

These are a few popular brands of Mud Tires. Most of the info was taken from Tirerack, so if anyone can prove them wrong, prove it to me and I'll make the change. Thanks

Check out these new Pit Bull tires. Not exactly a Mud tire, but they are mean as hell on the rocks.

I've been running the Kumhos (33x12.5) for about 10 months now and really love em. Great trail performance, fine street ride, and a great 'mud-tire' rumble on the road.

I paid $101 apeice for them from tire-rack. Great deal and bang for the buck.
Saved 50% off of the BFG MT, which is almost identical in tread-pattern.

I have run 32X11.5R15 BFG Mud Terrains on my XJ and now on my TJ and couldnt be happier with them. The only catagory they arnt the BEST in is wet roads. They are great in wear, dry traction, MUD , deep snow, sand.

HTH some poeple looking into buying them.

COOPER STT's

I decided to go with Coopers new Discoverer STT clickey for more info

I was looking to get 30x9.5x15 for my cherokee but the bfg MT's were $135 where as these in a 31x10.5x15 were $130 So far I love them though I only have about 50 or so miles on them. The are about as quite as my BGF ATs that I have on my wrangler ( I can't believe how quite they are with the huge lugs) and have an awesome look to them... Oh and even cooler... according to the salesman I am the first to buy the tires in the area...
cost=4x130x1.06=$555.20 after tax
here is a pic on the jeep:

More pictures

OK.. I have had them in every condition:

dry pavement : good
wet pavement : good
mud/muck/swamp : good-excellent (so long as it is not deeper than the the tire is tall then for some reason the whole jeep didn't wanna move)
ice : supprisingly good
snow : good again
highway 10hr trip : pleasant ... my roof rack made more noise

Overall I am very happy with them.

Anybody running those ProComp XT's? I just bought a set and curious if I'm the only one out there with them, seems to be an uncommon choice.

The tires are awsome!!!! They do great in mud, rock and sand. Still wanted to test them out in the snow but was thinking of selling them. I got them on the for sale forum right now. I was going to try the Interco TSL's next.

Both the BFG MT and the Cooper Discoverer have a benefit I'm looking for, but I'm wondering if any other brands have it, too. There is a small raised ridge in the void between the lugs. This ridge helps break suction and causes the tires to clear better. Has anyone noticed this ridge on any other brands of Mud Terrain?

I'm running Dayton Timberline MT's:

They're tough and have yet to fail me in the mud. The only thing they lack in is ice\snow performance, but hey all MT's suck in the snow, I'd sipe them but I don't want the lugs coming apart.

Thanks to the price of gas here ($4.25 a gal) I just bought a mountain bike, 0" of lift, 0" of travel, MT's, locked rear axle, oh yeah, it's the sh#$.
