Metric size of 31x10.5x15 tires

Finally figured out how to make a new thread I needed 25 posts... So i want 31x10.5x15 tires but can't find anything but metric sizes. I did the math and found that 31x10.5x15 tires would be 265/75/15 (about). Does anyone know if this is right or where I can find some sort of chart? Yes, I have used the search function and haven't found what I was looking for.

Thats works if you have the metric size already, but that's what I want to find. I tried 265/75/15 and got 30.6x10.4x15 so I guess that would work. Thanks for the quick reply.

What kind of tire are you looking at, I think almost every one makes a 31x10.5x15, and yes they will fit on a stock TJ.

I run 31x10.5x15 in Metric land...Canada. It's 275/75/R15 for an approx. 31 - 31.5 tire. That's the Metric size you want. Take it from a Metric schooled Canuck.

Remember, those numbers are millimeters. Ten millimeters to a centimeter. 2.54 centimeters to an inch. Do the math.

Here is the conversion i cut and pasted from another thread. The example is not the particular size you are looking for but you can figure it out easy.

265/75/R16

Take 265 (width) and multiply (x) by .0394 (universal, works with any size)

and you get 10.44 which = the width of the tire

Now take 10.44 and multiply (x) by .75 (sidewall) which = 7.83

Now take 7.83 x 2 (you have 2 sidewalls) + 16 (wheel diameter) and you get

31.5 which = the height of the tire

We discoverd the width earlier (10.44) and now we just figured out the height (31.5) so we have a 31.5 X 10.5 R16

Thanks everyone, I was just looking at Goodyear Duratracs and they come in 31x10.5x15 and they look pretty nice. Anyone got any experience with them in snow or mud?

GREAT and I mean FANTASTIC tires! The Kevlar really does make a difference. It's not just sales hype.
