Maybe Just Another SYE Thread...

How's it goin jeepers, i'm a newbie and i've owned my jeep for about a month now and i used to work with my honda crx so i don't know anything about jeeps.
I must say, Jeepforum has helped me a lot and i'm still learning.
I've been searching for SYE threads but our awesome "search" doesn't let me type in 3 letters or less words and i understand that it's necessary for most lifts and front DS can be used in the back if desired..blah blah

Well, I'd like someone to explain to me why I need SYE (besides the fact that TC will be at a steeper angle )
and How does stock slip yoke work?
Thanks for helping out another newbie

search for slip yoke eliminator or fixed yoke. You can also put asterisks behind SYE and they will allow you to search for SYE and won't interfere.

Essentially it lengthens the driveshaft(more like makes you use a longer, thus stronger, driveshaft) by shortening the t-case rear output shaft, and allows you to use a CV-type drive shaft which handles angles better than the stocker.

Anyone with more detailed explanations or corrections to the above, go ahead.
