LT285/75R18 = 34.8" to 35.1" tire

Anyone have any experience running this size tire on the stock Sahara wheels? I am looking at the Toyo AT II in the 285/75R18 size - it measures up at 34.81" tall and it's also only 11.3 inches wide which I like. And lighter than most 35's. Thanks for the input.

That's the size on my Sahara. I bought them because they aren't too wide and I was hoping to avoid using wheel spacers. It worked - no rubbing without spacers. I've got a 1" coil spacer up front and a 1" body lift.

Bill,
Do you have 3:21 or 3:73 gears? And did you change gears when you added the bigger tires? THanks,

Surprised by this statement. Never looked at this particular tire before, but every other time I've looked at this on an apples to apples size comparison to other brands Toyos are some of the heaviest tires out there. For example, these AT IIs in this size show as 65 lbs. but my 35x12.5x17 Goodyear MTRs with Kevlar are 64 lbs. That's a wider tire with more sidewall in a more aggressive pattern with kevlar reinforced sidewalls. The Toyo I would consider equivalent to the MTRs (Open Country MT) is 83 lbs. in the same size.

I am looking at Toyos, Nitto's and Coopers in the 285/75R18 size. All 3 have AT's and MT's in a variety of overall weights - but all are tall and skinny which is appealing to me. I have had tall and narrow tires on many of my trucks in the past, and all rode better with tall and skinny versus wide and tall. Maybe just my experience, but it seems that way. I use to love the QR78-15 radial buckshot mudder on my 78 chevy. Almost 36 inches tall and fairly narrow for a tire that size.

3.73's came with the Tow Package. As a result, no changes needed.
