how high can i go???

ok so i have a 98 xj with a 2" bb lift on it. im looking to go bigger but dont have the cash for a new driveshaft right now. im wondering if anyone can tell me how high i can go before ill need to get a longer driveshaft and also is it possible to drop the transfer case on that? thanks!

It's not a longer drive shaft issue as much as the slip yoke causing vibes. You will need a slip yoke eliminator (SYE) if you go too much higher. Most people need them at 3" with the newer xjs. It's hard to say though, because it all depends on what tranny, t-case, and rear axle you have.

You can drop the t-case, but the only real way to correct the rear drive line angles is to get a sye. A t-case drop is a cheap, temporary band aid fix.

yeah im looking into a 3-3.5 lift right now and i was considering adding my blocks and spacers to that making it a 5-5.5 so ill definitly need to look into the SYE.

haha from what your asking, read up little more before you go bigger, i suggest buying the XJ builders guide sold by one of the mods in the XJ section, great starters book
