Help with possibly Changing 02Jeep Wheels for 06Jeep Wheels....

Hey guys...

I am not a wheels and tire person so please excuse me if I ask a dumb question but I recently picked up a 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport from a friend of mine. It has the standard base wheels which do not look good IMO.
I know someone who is selling wheels from what he says is a 2006 Jeep Liberty but they are 17inch(advertisement is "New Alum o6 Liberty Jeep rims w/T.P. sensors - 5 lug W/5" bolt pattern").
Would these fit on my car or would it require anything special.. I assume I would need new 17inch tires also... if so and they would fit, what would someone recoemmend as a good tire size for these? Also.... what is the T.P. sensor and does it apply to an 02Liberty as well.

Is there a size tire you would recommend. I currently have 235 70 16 but since the rims are 17 I guess I have to go to a bigger tire.

I don't think those are Liberty wheels since I can't find pictures of Libertys with them either, not to mention I'm looking at a site to buy new wheels and they don't have that style listed as one for '06.

And as I thought, they are Grand Cherokee wheels and won't fit on your Liberty. (GC has 5x5" bolt pattern whereas the Liberty has a 5x4.5" pattern)

If they are in fact GC wheels they will not fit.

Thanks much for taking the time to check it out... guess the seller isnt being too honest. I looked all over google for those wheels on a Liberty and came up with nada. Shoulda known something was up, glad I didnt waste my time to check them out in person.
