Tires a compromise, bottom line. For my money (2 years so far) the Authority has exceeded my expectations in off-road capability, winter driving, and wear.

I've put over 15k on my MT/R Kevlars and they appear to have probably 35k left.

No. I drive 25k per year and I would rather not have to buy new tires every year.

I dont know about these tires, but with most tires ive had it seems that the 2nd half lasts longer than the first half.

I does. The first part of the tread is susceptable to tread squirm being more flexible further from the tire carcass, thus wearing much faster. Worn tread is much shorter and more stable. There can also be variance of the rubber compound within the tread and during the life of the tire.

Mr. lawman has never mentioned anything about my tires when ive been pulled over except one time when i had a tire going flat and trying to get home before it totally ran out of air, thank god for bead-locks and a few psi left. all in all i saved that 100 bucks and bought some beer and still able to mount and balance them for 45dollars then hit the trails whats wrong with that , if wal mart wants to save me a little dough buy doing whatever it is you said up there^ about it then fine but they cant sell an illegal tire to me that doesn't meet or exceed safety standards of today. And because its made by Goodyear why would Goodyear tarnish there name buy selling a tire that's junk, they would be out of business. these are the best kind of tires you can buy because you can destroy them and pick one up the next day near by otherwise id be driving miles for more expensive tires for me it makes sense maybe not for you but your going after Walmart's throat because there probably out-selling your business or the one you work at ten to one. On a side note 100rounds of 12gauge ammo is 15bucks at my walmart they shoot just fine

If you can pull off 65k miles on a tire that most people get 50k the safe way then I wonder how many miles you can get on a bfg all terrain. I know I am at 75k on mine and the threads are not showing yet. I probably have 5k left. that is 15k more miles and the threads wont be showing. For 1 I no longer work in the retail business and have nothing to do with it. 2 I have never sold tires, 3 I have seen the powder in you shells and while you might not notice a difference my competition shooting does. If you want to get into a ammo discussion I would love to own you on a shooting website. So keep shopping at Walmart and Billy Bob 7th grade education can replace your flat tires at 65k. I wonder why John Deere destroyed there name by putting the 10 hp motor in the Walmart version of their 12 hp motor, or why Radio Flyer Wagon put half the features on the wagon I was just looking at for my sons birthday. Do I buy some things at Walmart-Yes Do I get on forums and look closely at what I am buying before I do it-yes. I am just saying, do a side by side comparison, but judging by your last post you dont have the responsibility to do that. I hope you enjoy your beer you bought by saving at Walmart. -Priorities

Just put these tires on my girlfriends 95 ZJ with a 1.5" BB all done yesterday. The tires are BEEF, and they really make the Jeep look like a Jeep. The compound is softer than harder, but I think it'll wear well. At the very least, she's ecstatic. That's what counts. and they beat the crap out of those 8-9 year old dunlops she was running.
Note, they feel the same softness as my old Grabber AT2's, which I drove on for two years and wheeled, virtually no tread wear was present. They obviously had seen pavement, but they looked to be about a month old. Just barely broken in. I know, not the same tire, but the compound seemed very similar. I expect good things from these.

I have had these tires for going on 10k miles now, daily driver 50+ miles a day plus several offroading trips on them. They have only marginally visible tire wear. Any traction issues on rocks I have had I would attribute more to the open diffs rather than the tires, never had any issues in mud or sand. These have performed better than i expected and when you add lifetime balance and rotate and road hazard were by far the best deal I could find. The only downside to them, and the reason I will not buy them again is they do not make a bigger size for a 15 inch rim, if they did I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

My local Walmart just put the 31s on sale! Now they are only $169 instead of $180! That's only $25 per tire more than the name brand universally available tires! They're getting closer!

Just installed a set of these lastnight after reading many reviews on the forum. My first impressions are they aren't to noisy and they rode better than my previous tires. I'll update later with how they perform

Current prices for this tire locally are $176-$206 each for the 265/75-16 size.
For $137-$175 each, you can choose between Hankooks, Falkens, Coopers, Yokohamas, etc. online and have them delivered to your porch for free.
So I still fail to see how the Authority tires (Walmart only) are a good deal. UNLESS you just love that tread pattern or something. There are better tires on the market for less $$$$.

Funny you should say that cause I've checked into all of those.......
True I do love the treadpattern of these but are they going to last at least 35-40k miles?
The one upside is Walmart can install them (and warranty them I think) and that takes the hassle out of that part as well. I'm still weighing out the whole road hazard warranty vs no road hazzard warranty
