I've also been watching for the past year the prices for these tires slowly going up. They are in high demand and goodyear can't keep up. Simple economics states as quantity demanded increases price increases. I was lucky I even got mine within a week.

I find this to be a pointless thing to bicker about anyway.

They're not that bad off tbh. I ordered my 5 MT/Rs for 186 a piece and got free shipping from a promo on Treadepot.com a few months back. They're going for 199 a pop now (that is, for a 35x12.50r15) which still isn't bad all things considered. And Wal-Mart will do a lifetime M/B for about 46$ for the set, but treadepot.com is without a doubt the way to go, especially if you're in the southeast as their main warehouse is based in North GA.

P.S. I ordered mine on a Sunday, they were shipped out the next day (Monday) and were delivered via a freight company on Tuesday.

Treaddepot:

Zip 80503

33x12.5 r15 per tire: 199$

Shipping: 160$

Total (4 tires): 956.72$

Counting the rebate I got my total cost for tires on the jeep was 954$. Don't count the rebate and it would been 40 dollars more through discount tire (assuming 60$ mount/balance. You can't pay me 40$ to go to walmart.). The convenience is worth the extra 40$.

If you phone them, shipping is actually far less than what their site quotes, just sayin. They shipped a set of 35s to me for 75$ to 80235.

After it was all said and done 4 35s w/lifetime mount and balance set me back 867$ And I don't really see what's inconvenient about having tires delivered to my door, but I won't argue. To each their own, very simply. (also coulda simply had discount tire mount and balance mine if I so chose to and it still would've been considerably less.)

I just bought a set for my Jeep. I had them mounted with the RWL on the inside, not thinking about the solid tread offset on the tire. Does anyone know if these are directional or if it will hurt the tire? Thanks

They are asymetrical so they have a "inside" and a "outside",it's right on the sidewall which side faces which. If you have white lettering the white faces out.

I called goodyear today and talked to there tech guys. They said that the tire will not wear different, or track funny or have any problems with with safety. The only thing he said was that the tires were designed to mount one way for optimum traction. I ordered them from desert rat mounted so I thought they would have caught it.....oh well

One word simply sums these up............awesome on the trails!!!!! I was just wheeling with a group this weekend that were fitted with KM2's, Duratracs, and Mud Grapplers. All were rigged out with lockers f&r and very similiar builds and skill level to mine. I can honestly say the MTR's by far out performed all others this weekend. Pretty close in dry conditions accross the board, but when it came a rain storm this morning, I was able to climb/dig/crawl my way up stuff that others had trouble with and even had to winch through.

I'm literally amazed at the lateral stability these have........in a couple of severe side-hill sections, where others were sliding around a bit, the MTR's held firm the line I took. More than a few onlookers were also duly impressed and noted the same thing I was witnessing!!!!!!

Just got my 33x 12.50 R15 from discounttire.com. Paid 229 a tire for a total of 916 (free shipping) Mine took about a week because discounttire had to order them from the factory. I can confirm that 33s are shipping with black letters.
