Did you guys order them from an online store or a GY dealer close to you?
These tires have gotten alot of press over the past year. Peterson 4 wheel mag. had a big article on them a few months ago, and they were supplied these tires by Good Year for their yearly Moab excursion.

Can anyone here honestly give a good comparison between these and the KM2's and Cooper STT's??? I'm really torn between the three.

No info from me on the Coopers, but I have KM2s and used to have MTR-Ks.

The BFG is better on wet roads, ice and hard packed snow, if that's important to you. It's also a little smaller than the same sized MTR in real life.

The MTRs seemed quieter on the road (only in anecdotal terms, I never measured). The BFGs are pretty new, so I can't do a heads up mud comparison yet.

You used to have MTR's. How long did you have them? That tire is a new design.

They have been out for nearly two years. I was referring to MTR-Ks. I think I got them in August 2009?

PDoyle - This thread is about the Goodyear MTR w/ Kevlar tires which it looks like you currently have installed on your TJ from pictures in your profile. I think you may be slighty confused between them and and the original MTR design.

I ordered mine midway through January and was told they would be in the first week of February. I gave them a call today and now the date is "sometime in February."

I'm usually pretty patient, but this is already killing me. Slafferty, I don't see how you've waited since December

EDIT: I just called Goodyear themselves and there are 926 of the 35x12.50x15s on backorder. Next week they're making 1000 of them. The week after, also 1000. and then in 4 weeks they're making 2800.

He also said that once the tires are made its about 2 weeks before they're in store.

Yea i'm startin to get a little ticked that my tires arent here, but i also havent picked up my steel to build my long arms so i'm fine on my 33's. Then again i hate wearing down my 33's cause i want to resell them.

They are well worth the wait. When you get them and get a chance to test them and see what they can do, You will be happy you waited and not settle for a second choice tire. I waited a couple months first time around this time last year.
To cut costs and not pay overtime Goodyear runs a few sizes at a time. When a backorder hits a projected number they fill it and move on. That way there is no over stock and materials needed are bought as needed to cut over head. Just part of the obama depression. You guys waited this long I'm sure your on the top of the list to receive them. Good luck

All the while using this perceived "shortage" as a way to drive up prices due to high demand........Alot of tire companies seem to be doing it, noticed it 1st with Toyo this year, then Interco, now BFG and Goodyear. Never, in 25yrs have i ever seen tire price increases like I have the last 3!!! But that's for a different thread topic.

Now, to decide between MTR's, KM2's, and STT's!!!

Considering that the 33" MT/Rs can be found all over for about $20 less per tire than when I bought them a year ago and the 35" are at the same price or cheaper in some places, I would have to call this statement very inaccurate. Some tires may have gone up in price but not the MT/Rs.
