Getting new tires today, just have one question.

I'm going from 30's to 31's today - obviously I'd rather go bigger but I'm trying to be smart and not blow money I don't have on a lift and tires right now.

Anyway, I'm looking for an affordable (I didn't say cheap ) All-terrain tire. I don't do any heavy off-roading by any means, just some dirt trails and the occasional mud. What's a good tired that kind of fits that description?

And if anyone in South Jersey (Cherry Hill area) knows of a good place to get the tires, that'd help, too.

Thanks

Check out some Cooper Discoverer ST's
I ran these before my lift and STT's.
They're pretty quiet on the road, will hold up good for many miles 30-40,000?? maybe more??
and beefy enough that you'll like them off road.

I had an awesome experience with some Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors. They were a beast on road in wet and snow/ice as well as some moderate trail duty. I think those would fit your needs from your description. They also have good reviews. Another AT tire to be considered is the BFG AT. Good all around tire. They've worked for me so far in Moab etc... but my next set will definitely be MT rubber.

bfg at's if you dont get snow but if you do get snow they are not a great tire because the snow doesnt clean out so its like driving a slick

Well I just went to a local tire place and they priced me for 4 Wrangler 31x10.5's at $679+labor and it came out to $912. Am I crazy or is that a ridiculous number for those tires?

How much do those BFG AT's run?

If it were me, I'd go with the BFG ATs too. They are well known for outlasting any Jeep-oriented tire I'm aware of, they're truly an outstanding tire for nearly anything other than deep snow or deep mud.

Jerry, any idea how much I can figure on spending for them tho? They seem to be the overwhelming favorite so it's peaked my interest.
