Can you put tires made for 15" or 16" wheels on 17" wheels?
I know this sounds stupid but I need to know....a buddy of mine has 4, 35in. MT Baja Claws on 15 or 16 inch wheels and is willing to sell them to me for 300 dollars (only a month old)....i would prefer to keep my stock 17s. If there is no way for the fit what will it take to get 15s or 16s on a JK? The deal is too good to pass up. Thanks!

Buy them a pick up a set of 15" cragers. You can get them for less than $50 each on many web sites.

Well considering they are wider than stock you will need a little less backspacing and I believe the JKs have a 5on5 bolt pattern (or is it 5on5.5?
) And you will want a 15x8 height and widthAnyways, some Cragar or similar steel wheels will cost you around $200. Or less maybe.

What did you think the tires would just stretch like rubber bands?
WOW. LOL.

make sure the JK's brakes will even allow anything smaller than a 17" wheel

If you want to run these tires:
Step 1 - Figure out if they are 15 or 16 inch tires. Step 2 - If they are 15 inch tires, figure out if you can run a 15 inch wheel on a JK. Somehow I doubt you can since the smallest wheel Jeep puts on the JK is 16".
