biggest tire size for stock 01 Wrangler

Hi.
I have an 01 Wrangler Anniversary Edition.
What would be the biggest and best looking tire I can put on? Any suggestions?
I am looking for a very aggressive look, but something not too noisey.
Not wanting to put a lift kit on due to it being my daily driver and having 2 kids.
If anyone has pics, it would help a great deal.

Thanks.
Matt

ehhhh, I have 31s on my stock 04, I don't know what the difference would be from an 01, but they don't rub at all, ever.

Disconnect your sway bar. Only thing that runs 31 stock that won't rub in the TJ line up is the Rubicon.

I had 31's on my 2003 for 30,000 miles. Didn't rub once. Not sure what the diff is between the 01 and the 03 though...

I like my 31" TrXus, good on & off road. Good tire for the price.

Each jeep is different & you CAN NOT say definitively that you will rub when disconnected. I had mine at max flex with no rubbing, granted my flares are a little wider (Rubi Flares), I didn't even have to adjust my steering stops at stock height or w/ a 1" body lift.

The only reason I even added the body lift after putting the 31's on was to get the gas tank up higher when I put on a raised skid & also facilitate installing a 'flat' skid in the future.

Sorry I don't really have any recent flex pics....but here's a couple of just the tires:

Finally painted my cage:

The MT/Rs are good but I hear they don't wear as long as the BFG's. And they're geared more toward rock climbing rather than mud but they have an impressive tread pattern.

BFG AT would be a good selection if you do a lot of road driving with some off-roading. The wear 40,000+ miles and do very well in snow. Tend to get packed up with mud but can handle off-road driving.

BFG MT are a great general purpose off-road tire. Lots of grip in muck and dirt trail conditions, they do ok in the rocks and wear a long time, too. Better for mud conditions than the MT/R's

Everything else is a toss up for wear, price, tread pattern, etc. There are Procomp MT's that are similar the BFG MT's and so forth. You can get just about any tread pattern from the different manufacturers.

I would recommend the 31" BFG AT's if this is going to be your daily driver. If you aren't afraid of a mild 2" budget boost lift (~$200 and it rides well) you can fit 32x11.50 tires. Something to keep in mind.

I have a set of Cooper Discover S/T's they are aggressive, good in snow and mud, are not to noisey. I have 15,000 miles on them and they have wore just a small amount. Check them out.

I ran 31.5's on mine before it had a lift (97 sport). It rubbed up front but it still ran fine. You just won't be able to make tight turns without a little bit of rubbing. It looked bad ***, but then I got a 4 inch lift- then it looked like a roller skate ...
