Bigger Tires on Canyon Factory Rims

Not a tire and wheel guy, so, please educate me. I want to go to a 33x12.50x15 (BF Goodrich KM2) tire. I've just learned about Back Sapcing. Is there a way to calculate how much Back Space is needed with a particular tire width/height? This is my daily driver so I don't have the luxary of "trial & error". Lastly, does anyone know the Back Spacing value for the Jeep Canyon Alloy Rims? Thanks for your help.

Canyon wheels have 5.5" of Bs. To run 12.5 wide you need wheel spacers, the thinnest I could find are spidertrex1.25" the cheapest were roughcountry at 1.5"

Not warm and fuzzy with spacers

So, if I'm not all warm and fuzzy with spacers am I coreect in assuming that I need ~4.0"" of back space?
