I bought a chevy tahoe brand new, drove it to the tire shop before I got it home, and I put some bfg a/ts on it. I traded that car in on my jeep wrangler, and those tires a lot of life left in them yet. (Car had apx 32k on it.) I would try a new shop

I had 33" BFG ATs before I moved to 35s. They always wore well, but I was never impressed with the sidewall strength. I punctured sidewalls on two of the tires. Wasn't even doing anything extreme at the time.

Something is causing them to wear faster than they should. Running too high or too low of a tire pressure, not rotating when you should or ****ty alignment.

I got 285's 10 ply on my Dodge truck with a big camper pulling a big boat most of the time and 40k on then and looks like i'm good for another 30k at least--Mostly trips to Cabo and the Baja pavement leaves lost to be desired--I love them and the LJ will have a set this coming winter--

bought a set of 31s before winter '05 when I bought the jeep, they're still at half tread. I've only put 25k miles on them, and I drive hard.
Just my experiences. But they seem to be better than most people claim.

i had them on a couple trucks, they are ok all around. not great, but i never thought they were wearing too fast. the last set i had, i bought used, 150$ for 4. they were the 315s for an h2, put them on my dodge 2500 and drove it daily 60 miles a day for 3 years and i got a blowout. too me, i always thought they got hard and wore like iron. i have no idea how many miles they had when i bought them but i never thought i was going to get 3 years out of them.

This is what kind of reviews I see on every tire site. . . . BFG's are hated by a few people, but most say they have had good experience with their treadlife. Like the guy said a few posts back, I'll try the polite phone call approach and see what I get. Can't hurt and I'll report my findings.

I will never run another bfg tire. Ran both the at's and the km2's and they both suck, both for grip and tire wear.

something definately amiss. Ive used them for 20 years and ive yet to find a tire that wears any better. I had a set of one truck that went over 70k. On a lightweight jeep if everything aligned right id bet youd get a minumum of 50k out of a set and probably alot more. Ive got a set on my jeep right now that have 20k and look like new. Ive got a set of km2s on my silverado and theyve got about 25k on them and they wore a bit more then the ats but not much. they replaced a set of bridgestone duelers that lasted about 20k and were completely shot.

Yup I have a set of BFG ATs on my Jeep and they have probably around 18000 miles on them, and still have plenty of tread left. They have great grip as well IMO.

Weird. I've owned 3 sets. 2 sets on 2wd Ford Rangers and a set on my old TJ. When I had them on my TJ I drove for a sales company for a couple of months and was driving around 400 miles a day 3-5 times a week. Tire wore great. Driving that many miles in a Jeep sucked though. Traction on the road was good as well as off road. Going to be buying a 2012 JK in the next few months and I'll have a set on there within 24 hours of me buying it.

The reason nobody ever wears out a set of BFG KOs is because the rubber cracks and looks dry-rotted before you get to that point. Go look at a 3 year old set of them sometime and check out between each tread block..it's down right scary. To pay a premium price, and get horrible rain/snow/mud traction, and high rolling resistance (lower MPGs), and see cracking rubber all over the tires before the tread is worn out is just unacceptable.
But it's just like Nike shoes... there are some people who will buy them no matter what because of the name stamped on the side.
