Best tire for a Stock Wrangler

Sorry if this post has been done before but I couldn't find it. I just bought an 04 Wrangler, Rocky Moutain, it is an Auto with the 6cyl. I was wondering what is the Best/biggest tires I can put on without having to do any other mods. Also I wanna keep driveablity. I am guessing the BF Goodrick TAs but I wanted other opinions, size and brand?

Thanks

I agree, If your not wanting to do any mods. 31" BFG ATs are what you want.

Yep, the first thing we did was tires. Not knowing about JF at the time, I went with 30" BFG ATs and ever since have been wishing I'd found JF first. The 30"s are great, but I could have had a little more clearance for almost no additional cost. I just didn't know we could get 31"s on there without other mods.

Oh well, live and learn. After 3 years of on and off road driving I'm looking for a lift and 33"s. Modifying a Jeep is habit forming

HTH and Welcome,
Adam

30x9.5 General Grabber AT2's. Cheap tire, rates very well, and looks great.

31" GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armors. They preformed better than the BFG AT when I ran them on my WJ. Only thing I didn't like about them was the 2 ply sidewall vs the BFG's 3 ply. But that's not an issue if you don't do a lot of off road.

I found a set of these on Craigslist for a good price, I wanted the black rims anyways, any feedback on PromComp and if this size would fit a wrangler, they are off a 2001 Lifted Cherokee "Pro Comp A/T 31x12.50x15 on 15x10 black wagon wheels"

Thanks for all the feedback thus far

I would stick with 31x10.5 on a stock rig.

What does the 10.5 mean in tire size? Is that sidewall, do the 31x10.5x15 definitions match the cars tires like 215/60/15? I know those are width, sidewall and diameter.

The difference in traction offroad from a mud terrain and all terrain is massive, in wet conditions. If you wheel I wouldn't rule out a mud terrain, I was running 31"s mud Kings for about 6 months until I went bigger, and the jeep is my only vehicle. They will wear faster but if you plan to lift in the future they may last you until then.

So are you saying the Mud Terrains wear faster? I'm looking to add these to my stock rig soon also. BFG seems to be the brand of choice the majority of the time here on the forum.

a 31x10.5x15 would mean a tire thats 31" tall , 10.5" wide and uses a 15" wheel.
