My Trxus Mts are great in rain and snow. I drive around in 2wd in snow storms all the time because i dont feel the need to even use 4wd i never lose traction. Unless I'm going up a very steep hill or something. They have a lot of siping and I've definately never had a problem in the rain with them.

I've run 4 different mud terrain types in my life. So far the Mickey Thompson MTZ's have been the best. Most likely because of the massive siping. The tradeoff is the additional noise generated my the tread.

Ive run:

-BFG MT's
-Big O MT's
-Super Swampers
-MTZ's

Ive also run BFG AT's which are great on the street, but def. no MT.

STT, MTZ, and Trxus will be your best bet. That would be my top 3.

I haven't had any hydroplaning problems with my STTs. In fact, they've handled better than my old GSAs. Those bald tires would slip in slide in anything. Don't even get me started on slush!

Rain isn't too much to worry about as long as they're well siped. That's the key.

not much difference between an M/T and A/T. Just a deeper, wider tread. That's about it. That's the way I would explain it. Then again, your stability will really be a factor depending on the stance of the jeep as well.

If you buy an un-siped tire and get them siped, make sure they don't sipe the outer walls when they do it.

Just get the tires siped. My first MTRs were terrible in the rain, then I got my next set siped and its like a completely different tire. Much more wet weather traction. I don't think I will ever run an non-siped MT again.

I'm running the ProComp factory-siped muds on my Rover D90. They are very good in the rain. I've noticed they stop much shorter in a panic stop than the BFG's I ran previously.
