I will be using strictly Dynabeads in my upcomming set of TrXus.
It's new to me, but I'm definately giving it a go. I'll post back again in a few months to let everyone know what I think. My main concern is abrasion of the inner tire and wheel. If the beads sandblast thier way through the powdercoat the steel wheel will rust from the inside out. I doubt the beads have enough weight to damage the tire wall. From an engineering standpoint, my ideal balancing medium would also act as a dessicant absorbing any and all moisture inside the tire. That, combined with nitrogen charging the tire instead of air or co2 sounds like the ultimate. But I ain't makin' rocket science out of an offroad tire mount. LOL

Nope, not in my experience. I have not found tried anything that does. From what I hear the dyna beads do, but steel daisy bb's work just as well and are way cheaper. As long as you only pop one bead on the tire they are easy to get reseated.

What about the steel BB's? Don't they bead blast the tire and the wheel, effectively wearing the tire from the inside out? The Dynabeads must have a finite life. Let us know how long these last. What about aluminum wheels and bb's or beads?

Here's link with the patent information and other good stuff (note: steel beads such as bbs not recommended!) I just had them installed in a set of refurbished wheels for an old Alfa Romeo but won't be able to get an idea as to how effective they are until my car comes out of the shop- but my Cherokee always battles vibrations so I may go ahead and try them on the Jeep.

Well I just took my old tires off their rims and was very pleased to see that there was no damage to the wheels or tires. The inside of the tire looked brand new too. No signs of the bb's blasting holes through them. The bb's themselves are still round with no signs of damage at all. Just for reference these were run for almost a year straight on very badly abused AT's that I got for free just to try this with.

Personally, I just don't see the Dyna beads or steel bb's having enough momentum inside the tire to actually do any damage. When you are moving the things are pinned against the inside of the tire and pretty much stay there until you stop moving. When you do stop, the bb's will drop, but only a fraction of them end up making contact with the wheel and thats only a drop from a few inches, so there really is no way for them to do the damage some people fear. Again, this is just my personal opinion on the subject.

To you guys who have used them, can you hear any sound from the beads or BB's? I have my top down most of the time, so I would like to know if there is any noise that you can hear.

from the actual balancing beads you cant hear anything in you vehicle. with steel bbs you can somewhat but it sounds cool.

the problem with some brands of balancing beads are that they are too fine and will clump together if they get wet and dirty

I have tried this with 0.12 gram AirSoft plastic bb's. I am still having issues, but I think I just figured out I did not put enough in, only 5.5 oz on 285 75/r16 Trxus MT. (Did not have 33x16 in stock and on back order when i was ready for them) When I get around 55 mph it starts to wobble. I think I am going to try another 3 oz in each tire and see how that works out before taking to balancing shop.

Innovative balancing will tell you, you'll need about 8 oz for that size tire.
(If you were using thier ceramic beads)
This is an understatement to say the least. I have 10 oz in my 33" TrXus and it still is barely enough. Keep in mind Interco doesn't give a crap about making a
ROUND tire. There is allways one tire out of 4 or 5 that will have a serious lateral imbalance that'll shake yer Jeep no matter what.

will it work for smaller tires? i have 30" pro comp mt's... and are there negative affects to adding to many beads? i don't want to have them balanced every few months so if this worked that would be awesome. and what about noise it seems like they would be really noisy

It will work with any size tire.

I use the beads from Innovative balancing and my Jeep rides really great now!!! I have 33's on it.(MTR'S)

Just use the chart from Innovative balancing to find the correct amount of beads.
