Backspacing..'12 Wrangler wheels on 01 Grand Cherokee??

Hello. Will '12 Wrangler wheels will fit on an 01 Grand Cherokee? I think they are both 5 X 5 lug, just not sure about backspacing, etc? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Pretty sure the GC is 5x4.5 and the wrangler that new is in fact 5x5, Google is your friend. Pretty sure they wont fit bolt pattern though.

He already said both are 5x5 bolt pattern. And he's correct about that. His question is about backspacing, and I believe that the GC wheels were all 5.5" backspacing, whereas the JK wheels are 6.0" backspacing. So, they'll sit inboard another 0.5" which may or may not cause issues depending on what tires you run on them. On the outboard side they'll be even because the JK wheels are 0.5" wider, so the stance will stay the same. Only difference will be on the inside of the wheel and whether it'll contact any suspension parts on the GC.

I know what he said. But if he knew everything he wouldn't have asked. I Googled it and got mixed answers.

I'm a big boy and can admit I was wrong if they are 5x5.

Backspacing Issues?

Hey All...Thanks for the Info. Does the .5 inch backspacing difference affect anything else like suspension or handling action or wear? The Wrangler tires are 255/75/17 and my GC uses 235/65/17 stock, So are these Wrangler wheels/tires going to fit on my Grand Cherokee with everything being stock? Many Thanks, Brian

255/75-17 is the largest tire ever put on any Jeep vehicle from the factory, as far as I am aware of. No way that's going to fit on an older Jeep, and especially not a Grand Cherokee, unless you have a lift kit.

With the larger offset of the wheels, what I think you should try and do is test fit them before buying. Tolerances are pretty tight inside the wheel wells on a Grand Cherokee. It would suck to buy them and then find out the inner sidewall is rubbing a ball joint or brake line or sway link.
