Back spacing?

So I got these 35's off one of my buddies back in March.. I wanna get a spare in case I get a flat, how do I know what kinda of back spacing my rims have? I asked him but he doesn't remember.. Any ideas?

This is a semi-decent article on wheel measurements:

Just measure the backside of the wheel where it mounts on the hub to the edge of the rim. Just lay the wheel face down and out a board across it take your table and measure from where studs go through to board
