Anyone balance with dyna beads?

Found this the other day in my surfing exploits:

Dyne Beads

When I get new aluminum wheels I might try this so as not to have any wheel weights on them.

Any testiment to this working or is it modern day snake oil? Any downsides?

Thanks all

no they work and they work good.the problem is getting enough for the size tires you have then there is an airdown issue with it.if you get a place to install it that sells it they will have to install a vavlestem with a screen on it .now when you do air down you will have to give the tire a shot of air to clear the screen or bring the tires stem to the 12 oclock position .

i us these

airsoft pellets.they are about the size of a bb but plastic.

This is something truckers and RV have been doing for years.....Just recently a friend of mine got some 36 inch Irok's and mounted them on 15 X 10 beadlocks. We used 8 oz of beads for each tires. Absolute no issues.....drives well..

The beads we used were really small. I ask why so small and my friend (that did all the research) said that if they are small they will stick in to spots that need the added weight. I mean these beads were small....like a little bigger than sand size....

Anyway....it worked great and he has 42 in tires now. The rig they are on has not moved yet but I will let you know if it all work out....

i'm interested to hear more reviews on this stuff, for some reason no one can balance my 32" MTR's / cragars so that it doesn't flop all around the highway over 70mph.

BB's and golf balls are popular. They both work.

How do you know how much to use? Are you still using rim weights as well?

One pound of BB's or 5-6 golf balls works decent in a 38" tire. There's really no method to it, just dump em in. If they don't balance out, add more.

ya have to figure the standard 35 inch tire can be out as much as 30 grams maybe more but 20 is a good average.golf balls are cool to.when you come to a stop at a light you hear the golf ball bounce around on the rim .makes people next to you at the light really wonder, heheh

the only issue that comes from this is that you can get a bit of a vibration on start up before the tire has enough centrifugal force to push the beads or what ever your using to where they need to be.

my wheels / tires have already been "balanced" by two different shops, they both have said that they are balanced but i am still feeling some wobble / vibration over 70mph.

if i kept the weights on and added some of these beads to each tire, could i expect improvements?

your problem is the seam of the tire isn't set right on the rim .take it some place and have them reset the tire on the rim.have the tire spun on the rim .then have them rebalance them with weights on both sides of the rim .doing just the inside is no good.you are only balancing one side of the rim and tire.if you don't like the look then you can get away with the sticky wieghts to the far inside of the rim sometimes.

but to answer your question .yes you could order these from online or a shop.some places sell kits where you remove the vavle stems vavle and pour them in through the stem.put the stem back in and air up.you could even remove the weights after doing so.the stardard ammount for a 30 inch tire is 8 grams.if you have some thing bigger i would go up from there.10 gram for 33s and 15 or 20 for 35's and up.

So are these beads used in conjunction with wheel weights or by themselves?

Alone....no wheel weights......when they started all of the bead stuff it was because the wheels were to big to balance.....
