X2, It always goes to the highest pay check and free tires, Always will.

Side lugs help in any element. Rock it will have a ledges to bite. In mud or ruts, If you are slowing down, Saw the tires a bit or crank the wheel and hammer down. It will chew through the mud/rut. Same in deep snow, But not as effective as it is in rock or mud.

Some make them for show like mud grapplers, Some make them for use like creepy crawlers, Krawlers, Irok's and TSL SX's. Either way, Its still more rubber on the sidewall to prevent sidewall damage, So id say they do their job.
