Am I Nuts??? LA vs SA

I was looking at a BDS 3 or 4.5 Kit for my Rubi. They said the kit would not be ready for the Rubicon for another couple months so I started looking at other options. Now, here is my question.

It seems to me that you can buy a LA kit (pick your brand) for about the same price as a short arm kit with all the extra parts needed to make a SA Kit work correctly. Am I totally missing something? By the time I added all the adj. track bars, control arms and other parts - I was within a couple hundred bucks of a LA Kit.

I am somewhat new to this and not trying to start an arguement - please let me know if I am missing something or leaving out something critical.

Thanks

Short arm kits are about 1/2 the price of a long arm. The short arm kits I am familiar with are complete. except for sye/cv ds but that is also needed for a long arm.

Yea, they should be cheaper. but don't forget for that lift, as IGoFishin mentioned, you need a new driveshaft for that lift. With the rubi you don't need a SYE (it already has one) but you do need a new shaft and remove the balancer for more room (if I remember correctly).
