600 a tire, wow buddy you are getting ripped unless that includes the wheel to. My wheels and tires both shipped to my door were only 675 a tire and rim.

I like the Rockstars personally. I am about to switch over to the Monsters because I see alot of the Rockstars around now days. Mine are 20s with 35 inch Dune Grapplers (the tires with the flames). They are made for sandy surfaces and they work well. In the desert where I play it works out perfectly. And it is my DD so it still looks cool when I am in the city.

Not everyone buys a Jeep to go and climb rocks and mountain sides with. Mine is used for desert paths and sandy offroad surfaces. I have seen several posts on threads where guys get newer model Jeeps with few miles and as you watch the thread progress it becomes less of a Jeep and more of a dune buggy. $30,000 for a new Jeep plus $15,000 in crap accessories and over the top mods equals a $5,000 dune buggy in my opinion. But its their Jeep and that is what they like so I look and admire the time they have taken to modify it to their liking.

But 15 inch rims and 37 inch mudders are not for everyone. Great thing about Jeeps is that you can do so many things with them. So lay off the overly negative comments. Most of you sound like jack holes so you dont have to worry about wheelin with people with 20s cause you probably suck and they wouldnt want to hang with you anyways.

I HAVE TO KNOW WHY EVERYONE GETS NITTO MUDS ON THESE WHEELS. Everytime i have seen this wheel on a Jeep or any other truck, these tires have been on them

I don't have Nittos on mine. Toyos on my rides, and only toyos.

The Problem...

I think the problem here is that the experienced Jeep people (i.e. in most cases "older") and the ones who actually take their vehicles off road are RECOMMENDING that you don't, quite literally, throw away a LOT of money on a wheel that "looks cool" but will get destroyed on a trail...

I'm not saying that you can't wheel a Rockstar, but the guy that bragged about how he's got rock rash on his EXPENSIVE Rockstar wheels just proved this point: If you're going to take it off road then don't waste your money buying a really "pretty" wheel! Granted, if you make a good amount of money, or just like flushing your hard earned money away, you can wheel Rockstars all you want - NO ONE is saying you CAN'T wheel a Rockstar.

Having said all that, I can think of about 100 other things I'd like to have done to my Jeep before I spend over $2500 for a wheel and tire combo! I spent $1200 on 5 plain black 15" x 10" steel wheels and 5 **** Cepek Mud Country 33" x 12.5" tires mounted and balanced and shipped to me - For that price you can buy 3 Rockstar wheels and 2 Toyo tires. Which of those two deals is easier on your wallet and leaves you more funds for other mods?

Furthermore, the "Jeepers" that are advising against those wheels are doing so for YOUR benefit. 20" wheels and 33" tires leaves you virtually NO sidewall, meaning you can't air down your tires practically ANY. Also, I can tell you first-hand that all of those XD wheels have PLASTIC center caps. Do you LIKE the star in the center? Then don't take that wheel off road - It'll get smashed, cracked, or just ripped right off. Again, if you have a bunch of money just laying around, sure you can buy more center caps! ...but why spend the money on something that's just going to get scratched, scraped, dented, and worse?

It all boils down to what you're doing with your Jeep: If you're rollin' on 20" rims with 33" tires (and no side wall) then you're OBVIOUSLY not taking your vehicle off road...and that's fine! Not EVERYONE takes their Jeep off road...but maybe you should state that fact at the beginning of your post so you can avoid these kinds of "helpful" comments.

If you're doing serious off roading with Rockstars on your rig then good for you! I'm not "hating" on you, but the majority of people don't have that kind of money to just throw around, and THAT is why the people on this forum are advising against spending so much money on wheels that are just going to get ruined eventually.

Finally, if you're just trying to make your Jeep look "cool" (the guy that made the comment about Famous brand clothes cracked me up!) so you can present an "image" and aren't AT ALL worried about off road ability then that's your right too! ...but, in order to avoid people telling you why you SHOULDN'T buy wheels like these, you should probably just go ahead and state "Street Queen" at the top of your post... *sarcasm* That will help you to avoid the people who are trying to HELP you!

To the post before this one. Give the keyboard a rest buddy. What it all boils down to is that the jeep community is all about the same thing over and over again. That is why I see so many crager soft 8s and Mickey Thompsons and so on in a 15X10. I run a 20 with a 35, I personally do not need to air down, no rocks where I live. I do however take mine trail riding and mud riding. I respect everyones "HELP" but I dont respect are the post calling other peoples jeeps "mall crawlers trailer queens." What if people made fun of something that you invested money into just because it was not the "Norm". I think it would piss you off as well. Any way this is going nowhere so I will leave at I personally don't give a flying **** if you like my jeep or the wheels I run.

I think they would be ok, but not any bigger than a 17". Anything bigger on a jeep is just akward...

obsestmale: I never said I didn't like your Jeep, or anyone else's for that matter. The main point I was trying to get across is that this is JEEPforum, not cardomain, so you have to be prepared to receive some opinions and criticism (which should remain constructive and not just rude) when you ask about running $300 wheels on a Jeep! The community at jeepforum is usually nice, polite, and helpful (unlike on some other more "hardcore" forums) which is why I prefer jeepforum to other sites. MOST of the people that don't agree with people running Rockstars (or other EXPENSIVE wheels) on their Jeeps are basing that opinion on several factors: off road ability, the "bang for your buck" factor, and (sometimes) actual personal experience. If you can't take the criticism, or accept other people's advice or opinions, then don't post the thread! It's that simple...

I think the point is to state an opinion without insulting someone. I understand that if your Jeep is stricktly offroad and you are broke, that going for the absolutle best rim for rock crawling while keeping it under a welfare budget is a big deal and you cant understand someone paying more than you did for your upgrades. If you dont like it and absolutely feel the need to say something just simply say that you dont like it.

We all came here to get advice and ideas so that we can make our Jeeps fit us, but sometimes the forums are just sad in the way people are treated. Someone that is new posts in the wrong forum and they get their head chewed off like they are retarded or something. Or God forbide someone post something that was posted months ago and didnt go through every single thread that was ever created in order to research it before hand they get the same treatment. People on these forums can just be asses sometimes and its not necessary.

Exactly...

Klover: I completely agree! If you don't believe me just look at my post count - I don't post that often myself...

I also agree with TheGrateOZ: That JK is wicked.

Personally, I think the Rock Stars look amazing WITHOUT center caps, but the stars painted black look pretty awesome too...

Mine. 18' Rockstars, 33" Toyo A/T and a 2" OME lift. If I had to do it over again Id get a 3" lift and 35s. These are friggin badass and I love them more than I ever thought imaginable.

I had the center caps off for most of the summer. They're back on now (painted black). I just like them better with the caps.
