I believe they are the best multi-use tire out there. Yes, on any one of those items there are better options, but overall they come out pretty well on all of them. They measure reasonably true to size. Much better than BFGs for example.

So what do people not like about the BFG KM's and KM2's?

Also, as far as the Goodyear MTR's, with the asymmetric tread pattern, do they have to be mounted and ran white lettering out, or can they be mounted and ran either way? (I always have white wall in.) Thanks.

Looked into the Goodyear Duratrac but they only go as big as a 35. Local places around here are recommending the BFG KM2 or Toyo. They said they didn't see a 37" BFG Krawler available, just a 39". Hmmm.
Treadwright's Guard Dog is a clone of the original MTR and is much more affordable. Their 37's do require a 16.5" wheel, though.

GY does recommend them run with a certain orientation - AT like blocks inside and MT like blocks outside. For tires that are OWL (smaller sizes) that will mean OWL out. The larger sizes are not OWL.

KM2's are over rated, undersized and poor performing compared to alternatives.

So the larger MTR's don't have white lettering on either side then?

If you go to a site like tirerack you can look at all the sizes for a particular brand and it will say whether OWL or blackwall. Initially MTR/Ks were OWL in smaller sizes (think 33 and down), but I want to say that almost all are blackwall now.
