35 in tires size rims and spacing

I have a 99 2.5L manual, 4.5 in RE and it is up on jacks still. I am going
to 35 in tires. Should iI go with 15X8 or 15X10 and what backspacing would
I need. Thank you

Definitely go with a 15x8 wheel if you offroad and air your tires down. 4" or less backspacing, I wouldn't go down to 3.25" of backspacing though as some wheels like from American Eagle use. If you want to keep your tires tucked in as closely as possible you can use 4.5" of backspacing with two washers added under each of the two steering stop bolts to prevent tire rub when the steering wheel is turned all the way left or right.

You'll also need to regear your axles to 4.88 for those 35" tires and even that will be barely adequate with your four-banger.
